The latest collaborative take on the iconic Chuck 70 between Converse and Pigalle is part of a larger, conceptual project based on designer Stèphane Ashpool’s belief in power of sport to change the world around it.
The physical product is intended to be the team uniform of sorts for the newly installed Nike/Pigalle, outdoor courts and surrounding spaces that have flourished as community nurturing spaces in cities like Paris, Beijing and Mexico City.
Two colorways of the Converse x PIgalle Chuck 70 feature a fusion of modern impulses and heritage style. Both feature a technical film membrane, fused to a traditional canvas upper adorned lightning design. A multicolored gradient design with electric green midsole and toe cap displays the bold sense of style that keeps a century old basketball shoe at the cutting edge of fashion, while a tonal, vintage style off white colorway keeps its more vibrant elements at the accent level, suggesting a traditional look poised to transform into something much greater.
